DESCRIPTION:The Health Innovation East Midlands (HIEM) Innovation Academy is open to anyone to register. Once registered\, participants will have access to a range of modules\, each including a webinar\, live Q&A session with the experts and online resources. It also gets you to think about where you are with PPI as you inform\, engage\, involve and co-produce with people as you develop your innovation or service. \nIt also covers the three important drivers for involving patients and the public in healthcare innovation and why these are critical to getting your innovation moving within the NHS. \nUPDATE: Alongside our expert module presenter\, Shahnaz Aziz\, Patient Public Leadership and Equality Lead for HIEM\, we’re also delighted to welcome Susan Edge\, Co-Chair of the East Midlands Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) Senate for this live Q&A session. See below for Susan’s full speaker profile. \nPresenters\n \n  \n  \n  \n  \n\nShahnaz Aziz – Patient Public Leadership and Equality Lead\, HIEM \nSusan Edge – Co-Chair of the East Midlands Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) Senate\n\nCurrently co-chair of the East Midlands Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) Senate\, hosted by Health Innovation East Midlands\, Susan is a lay partner for Health Education England in the East Midlands and a patient representative for the East Midlands Clinical Senate. She is a member of the Professionalism and Academic Competency Committee of the University of Nottingham Medical School and the Education\, Training and Practice Committee of the UK Council for Psychotherapy\, \nSusan was involved in the further\, adult and work-based learning sector for over 30 years and gained significant experience of quality assurance and quality improvement. Subsequently she was the Patient and Public Involvement member of her local clinical commissioning group’s governing body for 8 years and was also a public contributor for the National Institute for Health Research.
