SUMMARY:*Cancelled* WEBINAR: The Midlands Ecosystem of Bench to Bedside in the Era of MDR and UKCA
DESCRIPTION:**Unfortunately this event has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. We anticipate that it will take place in early 2022\, details to be released in our fortnightly newsletter in due course**\nThe MedTech and medical devices market for the UK has changed. Companies large and small\, having weathered the impacts of COVID-19\, are now faced with further challenges as the EU’s MDR comes into effect and we march towards the time limit on marketing CE marked devices and in vitro diagnostics within the UK and the introduction of the UKCA. These changes present opportunities but companies will have to be prepared if they are to remain profitable\, whilst both maintaining compliance and in achieving compliance for their new devices and diagnostics. \nFortunately the Midlands boasts a thriving ecosystem of MedTech organisations\, networked to provide end to end support for driving innovations from “bench to bedside”. Companies within the Midlands have a multitude of development services which they can access to help take them from ideation to regulation. This webinar in partnership with the Medical Technologies Innovation Facility (MTIF) aims to highlight these services and map out how to both access them and get the most out of that interaction. \nThere will be an opportunity to put your questions to the presenters in a Q&A session after the presentations. \nDuration 1 hr 30 mins \nThis free-to-attend event is held as part of the INSTILS programme – a project part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund\, click here to be re-directed to further information about the project. This event is classed as State Aid to participating businesses\, the value of which is £190\, but is delivered completely free of charge to participants. \nPlease note: whilst this event is held as part of the INSTILS programme\, attendance is not restricted to companies in the D2N2 area and is open to all. \nSpeaker Profiles  \n \nProfessor Mike Hannay\, Managing Director\, Medical Technologies Innovation Facility (MTIF) – CHAIR \nMike is Managing Director of MTIF based in Nottingham.  Funded by Nottingham Trent University and D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership MTIF works with partners across the East Midlands to improve the quality of patient care by helping Med-Tech companies accelerate the development and commercial availability of innovative medical technologies and devices \n  \n  \n  \n  \n Deanne Hewson\, Healthcare Technologies Industry Manager\, University of Nottingham \nDeanne Hewson has worked with businesses and universities for over 20 years\, developing knowledge exchange activities and providing business support. Deanne’s current role with the Centre for Healthcare Technologies focuses on delivery of the INSTILS programme\, offering support to SMEs in the D2N2 region to innovate products\, services and processes. \n  \n  \n
