Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. \n  \nJoin the second of our two-part CPD accredited virtual workshops\, Is your Business Case NHS Ready?\, delivered by the East Midlands Academic Health Science Network (EMAHSN). \nThe challenge as innovators and companies selling to the NHS is often that when you have a product that improves patient outcomes and saves cost you still cannot get it adopted by the NHS. This is frequently because there isn’t a fully developed business case. \nPART 1 is a pre-recorded 40 minute webinar that you can watch at a time convenient to you. \nThe webinar will cover: \n– What a business case is\, what is its purpose and why is it so important? \n– Who reviews the business case and how are they evaluated? \n– How to construct a good business case \n—————— \nPART 2 is a live 1-hour Q&A session that will take place on Tuesday 2nd November. \nIn order to gain access to this live session\, delegates are required to watch the pre-recorded webinar prior to attending\, by close of play on Monday 1st November \nThe Q&A session will be held with a panel of experts from the EMAHSN and delegates will have the opportunity to ask questions directly to the team. \n  \n  \nUpon registration you will be sent a link to the pre-recorded webinar by a member of the Medilink East Midlands events team.  Joining details for the live Q&A session will be distributed separately once the webinar has been viewed.  \nLIVE Q&A PANEL: \nJulian Patel\, Commercial Manager\, EMAHSN (CHAIR) \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n \n  \nTim Robinson\, Commercial Director\, EMAHSN \n  \n  \n  \n  \nSPEAKER PROFILE (WEBINAR): \n \nNicholas Brown\, Commercial Manager\, East Midlands Academic Health Science Network \nNick joined the East Midlands Academic Health Science Network as Commercial Manager in 2015. Prior to this\, Nick has more than 20 years’ experience of the medical industry working with manufacturers\, distributors and clinical staff from the UK and European health sectors\, from both the sales and marketing side\, as well as in a consulting and advisory role. His Commercial Manager role focuses on building closer links between healthcare and businesses; identifying new services and products that can be introduced for the benefit of patients throughout the region – as well as marketed throughout the UK and abroad\, providing wealth creation opportunities across the East Midlands.

SUMMARY:WEBINAR: 10 months on from Brexit- where are we now?
DESCRIPTION:Ten months on from Brexit – we are seeing a set of challenges and opportunities facing the life science sector\, a time of technological change across fields like biotech\, medtech and AI. \nAmong the specific challenges are the new\, dual systems for mainland UK and Northern Ireland\, with NI needing to apply regulations flowing from Brussels. Sales in NI may require new Economic Operator arrangements\, for example.\nAlongside these challenges\, the UK is finding its feet in developing its own systems and structures. Opportunities like a more flexible and permissive regulatory model\, involving acceptance of goods approved elsewhere subject to proportionate\, risk-based controls\, could see a reduced regulatory burden\, especially for smaller innovators. The fresh approach proposed in the Taskforce on Innovation\, Growth and Regulatory Reform report offers a prospect of real benefits to industry. \nBusinesses across the sector also continue to face challenges and opportunities in recruiting and retaining talented staff. These include the new (but continually) evolving points based immigration system\, competition for the best people\, and staff engagement – all in the context of new ways of working as we begin to emerge from the Covid-19 lockdown. \nJoin Mills & Reeve at this webinar to hear from James Fry\, Isabel Teare and Tracy Yates as they consider the above challenges plus providing the opportunity for you to ask questions. \nDURATION: 1 hour \nSpeaker Profiles: \n \nJames Fry\, Head of Life Sciences and Partner at Mills & Reeve\nJames heads the firm’s fast growing\, multi-disciplinary life sciences practice and focuses exclusively on this sector. The practice supports clients in the pharma and biotech\, medical device\, diagnostic\, medtech and digital health sub-sectors. James’ own practice focuses on intellectual property\, commercial contracting and regulatory work. \n\nIsabel Teare\, Senior Legal Adviser at Mills & Reeve\nIsabel Teare is a Senior Legal Adviser at Mills & Reeve. She started her career in molecular biology\, and focuses on all aspects of life sciences law and regulation. \n\nTracy Yates\, Consultant\, Mills & Reeve \nTracy is an employment lawyer since with a business focused immigration specialism since. She has a wide experience of changing economic\, political and legal environments. She provides support and advice to leading regional organisations including those in the life sciences sector. \n  \n

SUMMARY:How cyber safe is your organisation & supply chain?
DESCRIPTION:Medilink Midlands Virtual Coffee Break – members only \nOur June virtual coffee break will take place on Tuesday 8 June from 1 pm – 2 pm. \nThis month we will be discussing cybersecurity\, and we will be joined by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC)\, which was set up in October 2016 in support of a national ambition\, outlined in the UK Government’s National Cyber Security Strategy\, to make the UK the safest place to live and work online. \nDuring the session\, representatives from NCSC will provide an insight into what we should be doing to protect ourselves against cybercrimes that target business owners\, and also the many support streams available to SME businesses. \nIn addition\, we have invited some of our member experts in the field of cybersecurity who will be able to contribute to our discussions. \nHosted by Darren Clark\, Chief Executive at Medilink Midlands\, these online coffee breaks provide an opportunity to share current challenges and experiences and make introductions to those that can help. \nWe’re here to help\, so let Medilink along with the virtual group work together to help each other with any concerns\, issues\, or solution needs you may have. \nIf you have any questions or comments\, please feel free to submit in advance to make sure we cover your needs and meet expectations. Click here to submit. \nDial-in details will be provided to delegates by a member of the Medilink Midlands events team once the online registration form has been completed. \n[popup_trigger id=”2016″ tag=”button” classes=”eventbutton”]Book Now[/popup_trigger] \nMedilink Members only. \nIf you’re interested in becoming a member\, please get in touch info@medilinkmidlands.co.uk \nSpeaker profile: \nThe NCSC helps to manage and mitigate the impact of cyber attacks.
