SUMMARY:IN-PERSON EVENT: HiMed Bootcamp
DESCRIPTION:   \n  \nChina is the second largest and fastest-growing Medtech and Biotech market globally. In recent years\, this has led to a heightened investment interest from Chinese Medtech and Biotech companies in the global healthcare and medical research sector. \nThe Bootcamp will tangibly equip leaders to life science and broader healthcare companies with the knowledge required to develop a successful business strategy for China. The intensive one-day schedule will incorporate sessions on accelerating the path to entrepreneurship\, developing a market entry strategy\, successful partnering approaches\, regulatory pathways\, distribution and marketing\, market risks\, common pitching techniques\, and key success factors for introducing healthcare products\, technologies\, and services into China. \nThe course integrates the innovative Biodesign theory (The Process of Innovating Medical Technologies)\, which is the culmination of 16 years of medical entrepreneurship at Stanford University’s Biodesign Research Center. This theory was introduced to China by Professor Chengli Song of USST and has been implemented as the core curriculum of the Bootcamp by HiMed-Joyin since 2017. To date\, 20 bootcamps have been successfully delivered\, with over 300 entrepreneurs participating in previous sessions. Notably\, more than one-third of the companies have reported achieving their goals and experiencing rapid development and growth in their businesses. \nThis course also encapsulates years of collective experience in the China market and life science commercialization\, garnered from specialists\, enterprises\, and investors\, along with insights from other renowned speakers from the global medical industry. By the conclusion of the bootcamp\, founders will be equipped to formulate a comprehensive China market entry plan\, which will then be presented to a panel of investors and industry experts as a pivotal deliverable. \nHosted at Arise Harlow Innovation Hub \nArise is an Innovation Hub for businesses specialising in the Health\, Performance and Wellbeing sectors\, and is part of Anglia Ruskin University (ARU). With Hubs strategically located in Chelmsford and Harlow\, members can enjoy tailored business support\, including access to grant funding\, networking opportunities and serviced office facilities. \nArise is supported by the expertise and resources of ARU\, providing skills\, talent\, innovation and business support. SUMMARY:IN-PERSON: Intelligent Systems and Robotics in Health and Social Care: Interactive Workshop for Industry
DESCRIPTION:The EPSRC funded EMERGENCE Healthcare Technologies Network+\, led by Prof. Praminda Caleb-Solly\, would like to invite representatives from healthcare technology focused SMEs to attend an interactive workshop about intelligent and robotic systems in health and social care. \nThe EMERGENCE network aims to create\, foster and facilitate co-designed\, co-delivered and impactful research to accelerate the realisation of healthcare robotic technology as pragmatic and sustainable solutions for personalised\, affordable and inclusive assessment\, self-management and reduction of frailty. \nEnsuring that healthcare professionals\, such as carers and therapists\, are able to set up and proficiently use the technology is vital for enabling them to make effective use of emerging solutions enabled by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robotic technology.  As part of the work package on future care workforce skills for integration of healthcare robotics into care we have been identifying gaps and requirements for these technologies from the perspective of healthcare professionals. \nThis workshop will provide companies who develop healthcare technologies with an understanding of what we learnt regarding these gaps\, facilitating a hands-on approach to reflective thinking on how this learning could be incorporated to improve and develop technologies so that they are more easily adopted by healthcare professionals. \nRefreshments and lunch will be provided\, free of charge. \nMore information\, including the draft agenda for the event and details of how to register to attend can be found on the EMERGENCE website: (https://www.emergencerobotics.net/events-and-network-activities/intelligent-systems-and-robotics-in-health-social-care) \nIf you have any questions about this event\, please do not hesitate to email the network – emergence@nottingham.ac.uk

SUMMARY:WEBINAR: Medilink UK Biosensing for Diagnostics Special Interest Group (SIG)
DESCRIPTION:The vision for this special interest group is to create a forum for companies producing diagnostic technologies which involve the application of sensor systems and/or detection of biological interactions. \nBiosensing for diagnostics is a critical and ever-evolving field in the realm of healthcare and biotechnology. It encompasses a wide range of techniques and technologies aimed at detecting and measuring specific biological markers or molecules through the detection of biological interactions within the device. These technologies are most often found in point-of-care applications\, for example blood glucose monitors or lateral flow devices. These technologies are designed to provide valuable information about the patient’s physiological state\, allowing for early disease detection\, disease progression tracking\, and personalized treatment strategies. \nThe SIG aims to provide: unique networking opportunities with industry peers\, access to cutting-edge insights and knowledge\, and the chance to collaboratively address shared challenges. Serving as a hub for fostering collaboration on initiatives that directly address the unique needs of our industry. Members will enhance their visibility and recognition within the sector. \nAgenda \n· Introduction and welcome \n· Purpose and objectives \n· Industry presentations – CPI\, 3 SMEs \n· Interactive feedback \n· Next steps and closing remarks \nTo read more and to register\, please click here.
