DESCRIPTION:Farm to Fork: A one health approach to reducing antibiotic resistance. \n3 April – The Infectious Disease SIG is the second of a two part interest group initiative and will explore the links between food production and antibiotic resistance in the environment and the impact this can have on health. \nPresentations will include: \n-Introduction to RUMA (Responsible Use of Medicines in Agriculture) \n-Pigs and One Health: Disease and Antibiotics \n-Manipulating the microbiome: a tool for sustainable animal production? \n-Cross-disciplinary approaches to tackle antimicrobial resistance in agriculture – are we doing it right? \nThere are also opportunities to present during the event. The presentation slots are available for SMEs to share their technologies\, products and services to the audience. Each presentation will be 5 minutes long. DESCRIPTION:SEHTA\, London South Bank University & the GLA would like to invite you to come along to this FREE showcase to meet leading academics involved in business development activities through the Health and Wellbeing Institute. \nOver 150 British SMEs and major companies have commercial partnerships with LSBU\, and many more as part of research collaborations. LSBU can provide idea validation for proof of concept\, product/process/service testing and evaluation services\, in addition to being a strategic R&D and education partner. \nLSBU has excellence in the following fields:\n• Centre for Addictive Behaviours Research\n• Centre for Biomedical Engineering and Communications (BIMEC)\n• Centre for Applied Research in Improvement and Innovation (CApRII) in Health and Social Care\n• Sport and Exercise Science Research Centre \nAfter presentations showing how LSBU can support business needs\, there is a “Meet the Academics” session where attendees can have a 15 min 1:1 conversation with the academic(s) and their department colleagues to explore collaboration possibilities.
