Founder of AdamsonJones, East Midlands-based firm of patent and trade mark attorneys, Dr. Steve Jones has stepped down from his previous role as executive Chairman with ownership of the company passing to managing director Simon Cooper and director Nic Ferrar.

Simon said “Steve’s retirement from the business has been several years in the planning to allow for a smooth and gradual transition for the new management team, and with the best interests of our clients in mind. On behalf of myself and all the team we would like to thank Steve for having the foresight and ambition to set up the company 17 years ago, and for building it up into the successful business it is today.”

However, this isn’t quite goodbye just yet as Steve continues to act as a consultant to the business.

It’s an exciting time for the company having opened a new office in Leicester earlier this year with a focus on providing hands-on support for the region’s manufacturing industry.

In order to build on its position as one of the leading IP specialists in the East Midlands the company has also recruited several new qualified and part-qualified patent and trade mark attorneys.

AdamsonJones is delighted to welcome Jenny Vaughan, a chemistry patent attorney with over 25 years of experience working in private practice, in-house positions, as well as in her own consultancy business. Jenny joins the pharmaceuticals and chemistry team as senior associate, based at the BioCity office in Nottingham, working alongside Eilidh Pugh and Katherine Wright.

Sri Dhevi Santhana Dass joins the business as senior trade mark assistant. Sri is qualified as both a Malaysian and UK solicitor and commenced training as a trade mark attorney in 2015.

And in September the business looks forward to welcoming a new trainee physics patent attorney. The new recruits add significant additional depth and breadth to the technical team as part of the company’s ongoing plans for growth.
