To help mark NIHR20, we are launching the NIHR Innovation Catalyst pilot initiative. The pilot is looking to fund research about interventions that enable care beyond the hospital, supporting a shift towards a neighbourhood health service.
This is a one-stage, full application funding opportunity.

- Rooted in the government shift of ‘hospital to community’, this funding opportunity aims to support the development, clinical validation, evaluation and/or real-world evidence generation of disruptive and transformative interventions built for community care, including where service or care pathways changes are required to support their implementation.

We will hold a webinar about this funding opportunity on 3 June 2026, 11.00 am – 12.30 pm.
The event will provide an opportunity to find out more about the Catalyst model and the application process.
RSS workshops webinar
The NIHR Research Support Service (RSS) is hosting multiple workshops to support potential applicants. These sessions are designed to help innovators improve the quality and competitiveness of their applications through practical tools and a clear understanding of the assessment criteria.
