Brandauer’s commitment to growing our own people was again recognised last week when two of our apprentices were recognised for their achievements.

Oliver Eskriett, a Team Leader in our busy toolroom, beat off competition from tens of his peers to claim the Leadership & Management title at the 11th In-Comm Training Awards.

The 23-year-old impressed judges with the way he has helped the company claim over £500,000 of reshoring wins over the last 12 months and is now playing a crucial role in the development of the world class tooling academy at Aldridge.

“My journey with Brandauer started seven years ago and I’ve learned so much in that time from my colleagues and mentors – it has been some journey,” explained Oliver, who picked up his trophy in front of 300 people at the Eastside Rooms in Digbeth.

“It was great to be recognised for my development at such a high-profile event and I’m keen now to make sure everyone knows how important vocational learning is to the future of engineering and manufacturing.”

Joining Oliver on stage was Taylor Berry, who was highly commended in the Engineering & Manufacturing Foundation category.

The 17-year-old has been with us for just over a year and has quickly proved to be a valuable member of the team, completing his forklift truck licence in his own time and contributing positively to a lamination stacking capability project that will be used in the next generation of EV motors produced by Jaguar Land Rover.

Taylor concluded: “I never expected to win such a prestigious award so early in my career and this will definitely motivate me to complete my apprenticeship and continue to help Brandauer to deliver our record-breaking year.”
