West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA), funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), has commissioned Exporting Starts Here led by the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce. This initiative empowers small and medium-sized businesses across Coventry, Solihull, Birmingham, and the Black Country to thrive internationally.

The programme is designed to enable more companies across the West Midlands to confidently export. The goal is to empower new-to-market and new-to-export firms with resources and insights for sustainable scaling. Eligible businesses must:

  • Be registered in, or operate primarily within, Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull, Walsall, or Wolverhampton.
  • Be involved in industries with strong potential for growth and development in the West Midlands.
  • Exporting isn’t just for products. Service-based exports represent a significant growth area for UK businesses and can be highly profitable. Therefore, whether you’re in tech, finance, creative industries, consulting, or education— we can help you access opportunities in international markets.

Exporting Starts Here provides intensive, customised support to help West Midlands businesses thrive in global markets. Key features include:

  • 1:1 Expert Guidance
  • Workshops and Training
  • Focus on High-Growth Clusters
